Newsbureau, 1st August,2020 | Japan is also seeking to ban the popular video sharing platform TikTok. Lawmakers from Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party have decided to push for a steps to restrict use of chinese owned video sharing app TikTok.
It is concerned that user data may end up in the hands of chinese government, public broadcaster NHK said. A group of lawmakers from the ruling party, led by Japanese Finance Minister Akira Amari, decided at a meeting on Tuesday to take action against the TikTok and plans to submit a proposal to the government as early as september, NHK reported on Tuesday evening.
TikTok has been targeted of criticism since India banned the TikTok last month. It is said that even the United States is preparing to ban TikTok.
And the Australian government is also likely to take strict action against TikTok. On the other hand, TikTok has been denying the claim that the user data will be made available to the Chinese government.
TikTok has made it clear that the Chinese government has not yet requested user data and if government ask for that then the TikTok will not give.
