Kathmandu. 29th April, 2020 | A PCR test conducted at the National Public Health Laboratory in Kathmandu by two persons in Rautahat has confirmed the infection of coronavirus (Covid-19).
According to Mahesh Sah, an official at the District Hospital, Gaur, two men were found to be infected with the coronavirus. After the lockdown, samples of the two swabs were sent to the provincial hospital in Janakpur for testing.
Although the results were negative, Sah said that when they were sent to Kathmandu for re-testing due to suspicion, the results were positive.
According to the hospital, a 35-year-old man from Ward 1 of Dewahi Bonahi Municipality had come to Nepal from Kolkata through thief-way. In Janakpur, he was allowed to go home after his PCR test report came back negative.
After the positive result of the PCR test conducted in Kathmandu, the search for those who came in contact with him has been started.
Similarly, a 24-year-old man of Vrindaban Municipality Ward No. 9 has also been confirmed infected with coronavirus. He also entered Nepal through thief-way from India.
He was kept in the quarantine at Chandrapur. Earlier, PCR test at Janakpur Provincial Hospital had shown wrong results.
A 14-year-old boy from Sarlahi was given a false report by a machine while undergoing a PCR check. After the incident, the swab test being carried out at the provincial hospital in Janakpur was postponed.
