News Bureau, Siraha, April 21th 2020 :
Food supply has reached two poor settlements in Mirchaiya Municipality-9 of Siraha, which has been struggling for lockdown.
The social organization Help Madhesi has helped provide food relief after their stools were burnt due to their daily wages.
Mirchaiya Municipality-9 Painghata and nearly 23 backward community people and poor households of Katha received food grains on Monday.
The news was published in the News Bureau last Friday under the headline 'Lockdown left the stove burning in the house of the poor'. After the news of their daily life becoming dependent on daily wages, 'Help Madheshi' reached the poor settlement with food grains.
They make a living by earning a daily wage. They were in trouble after not finding employment in the lockdown. Happiness has prevailed in those settlements even after getting food items.
After receiving the relief, they were happy and thanked the support organization Help Madhesi. Local Faguwa Sada said, 'Lockdown had stopped burning, thank the heartfelt organization.
There are 13 families living in Painghata, which is dominated by Musahar community, while there are 10 families from Sada, Mallik, Shrestha and Sarki communities in Katha. Similarly, a Musahar family has been relieved at Rampura of the same ward.
Ram Prakash Yadav of Help Madhesi, a resident of Mirchaiya Municipality-7, who is currently living in Qatar, had taken the initiative for relief.
Ram Kalyan Mahato, President of the Qatar Chapter of the Help Madhesi, said that he was happy to help even though the world is suffering from a coronary epidemic.
Anjay Kumar Sah, who is also the chairperson at Mirchaiya Community of the RJP Party's participating in the relief distribution, said it was sad to see the presence of people in such remote settlements.
He complained that the representatives of the people considered it a priority to provide relief to the nearest but not to the real affected. He said that the people's representatives could not give up their pride and arrogance even in such a difficult situation as everyone had to rise above the party to help.
